Fireworks warehouse explodes at Jankara market


A firecracker(banger) storehouse burst into flames at oke Awo in jankara market area this morning. The massive fire outbreak consumed 8 houses and injured 40 people.

The horrid incident occurred at about 9 am this morning when residents in the area started hearing loud bangs and noises coming warehouse with thick smoke emerging from the building.

The army, navy, airforce and other emergency agencies had to come together to put out the large inferno. one person was recorded dead.

Residents flee as pipeline explodes in Ijegun


RESIDENTS of Ijeododo in Ijegun, Lagos have fled the community following a pipeline explosion and the inferno in the village, located in Ojo Local Government of the state.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation pipeline exploded on Monday night in the community.

As at 9.15pm on Tuesday, no casualty had been reported in the explosion said to have been caused by suspected pipeline vandals.

Breaking news: Gunmen Burn 3 churches and border posts in Kano this morning


About 50 suspected members of the extremist group Boko Haram set fire to three churches and border posts in northeastern Nigeria on Sunday, residents said.

It was not immediately known if there were casualties.

According to residents, around 50 gunmen in cars and on motorcycles carried out the attacks on three churches and border posts with neighbouring Cameroon, opening fire on police and chanting Allahu Akbar, (God is Greatest).

[breaking] Explosion occurs at catholic church in Jaji military cantonment,kaduna


This report is just reaching us now that an explosion occurred at a catholic church located in Jaji military cantonment, kaduna state.

According to Dailytrust,

At least 5 people have been confirmed dead from the explosion at the Protestant Church at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College suicide bomb attack this afternoon. A source at the Military Hospital stated that he has seen 5 corpses brought in so far as well as many injured from the blasts.
