Commissioner for Grants and Donor Agencies, Elder Fred Udeogu, has escaped death by whiskers after a gang of unknown gunmen attacked his convoy in his hometown in Ikwo local government area.
According to an eyewitness who identified himself as Ifeanyi Mbam stated that the commissioner was returning from the burial of the grandmother of wife to Senator Igwe Nwagu, when the assassins laid ambush and blocked Opera road at Ndiagu Achara community in Ikwo LGA, as fate would have it, the hoodlums did not succeed with their plan.
Elder Fred has been described in various quarters as one of the powerful aides to Governor Martin Elechi since the inception of the present administration in 2007.
