Strange fish was actually a baby octopus

They say education is power...trust me there is no lie in that statement! On Tuesday, a whole town (Ibadan) went agog when a woman known as Ramota salau raised an alarm that she had seen a creature that was half human and half fish.

Her home situated at the Isale Asaka, Foko area in Ibadan, Oyo state state turned to a tourist centre as people thronged to see the strange creature which had already been given a name, omo yemoja (miniature mermaid).

Alfas and traditional priests started scurrying all over the place praying and giving false interpretations thus heightening the tension that had already gripped residents. The news got online and another frenzy started but thank God! the whole thing was put to an end yesterday when the police commisioner for Oyo state,Mohammed Ndabawa released a photo revealing the 'strange' creature which was actually a baby Octopus.

The annoying part of this story is that if the woman had just said that the creature was half human, half fish...ehen we can understand that she is illiterate...but by adding that the fish talked to her.... as in..what kind of spicy lie that? in fact...the police had to keep her in police custody to avoid attacks from angry folks.

she will be released when the tension has died down.
