Worries about Donjazzy's Club POP
Club management is not the same as music, those are the words that i clearly remember the security man source telling me when i was at Saka Tinubu street in Victoria island today where i had gone to drop a computer device for my company.
I went to a company called cyberspace to deliver a computer device when i noticed that Donjazzy's club POP was just opposite the company building. when i dropped the device ,i was curious about how things went down at the club so i sat to have a chit chat with one security man in the area.
what he told me surprised me...the fairskinned man with a kind of calabar accent told me that things were not booming for the club, he stated customers had reduced drastically compared to when the club started. i asked him what could be the cause and he made this statement,''Oga, you know say managing club and music no be the same thing...they are two different things..wetin donjazzy sabi na music, make him manage that one..club business no be him thing''.
I was drawn back but that was not all, he made it clear that Donjazzy did not own the club that jay jay Okocha, the owner and former manager, only leased it to the music producer for a while. he stated that things were booming around the club which was formerly called Club 10..until okocha gave it to his wife to manage, her tenure was not so good and they started losing customers before Okocha put it up for lease.
The man also complained that he no longer received the tips he used to get for securing cars parked outside the club, he lamented that ever since customers reduced, tips they usually get on a nightly basis reduced to about one or two tips per week.
i thought the guy was lying initially until his colleague also joined in the discussion and affirmed everything he said.
Sad!
