Motorcycles banned in Kano after Emir's attack


Motorcycles popularly known as 'Okada' have been banned in Kano following the attack on the Emir by assassins on Motorbikes.

Few days ago, the Emir,Ado bayero, was returning from the mosque when armed bandits trailed and attacked his vehicle,killing his driver and two guards.

The Kano State Government banned the use of motorcycles for commercial purposes in the state.

Kano reportedly has the highest number of commercial motorcycles in the country with conservative estimates putting the number of riders in the state at about one million.
