Sheila Solarin,wife of late academician, Tai Solarin has been buried at her husband’s hometown at Ikene town in Ogun State. The late amazon, 88, passed on at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State.on Sunday October 21, 2012.
The burial ceremony was held at the Mayflower school compound, in attendance were Solarin’s relatives and the Ogun state governor, Ibikunle Amosun. The officiating pastor,Joseph Osifuwa, spoke glowingly about the character of late Mrs Solarin. He described her as an exceptional individual and a dedicated activist who lived for the poor.
He said, “Solarin knew her purpose and fulfilled it. She finished her course. Whatever position one occupies, it is meant to fulfill a purpose of God.”
The Eldest child,Corin Solarin thanked the guests for attending and showing their respects, futher staing that the interment would be done in private.
