A group of soldiers stormed the hostels of the University of Abuja,at about 6:30 pm tuesday evening and pursued students out of their hostels.
The University management had earlier warned the students to leave the hostel premises and go back to their repective homes before 6am wednesday morning.
This came as a result of the protest held by the student's over school's inability to secure accreditation of certain programmes like Engineering courses.
According to reliable sources, the soldiers were invited by the university vice chancellor, James Adelabu.
Speaking to newsmen, a student who identified himself as Gabriel stated that the soldiers beat them up and molested them,“We were chased with rifles and sticks, what a shame! And we are in a democracy,” he lamented.
