MAN CAUGHT WITH CANNABIS HIDDEN IN AUTO PARTS

A 30 year old trader, Chibuike chukwu was arrested recently at murtala muhammed airport after he was caught trying to smuggle  1.070kg of dried cannabis in his luggage.

Chukwu smartly concealed the contraband in car shock absorbers which he carried along with his other luggage. The discovery was made by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) during a routine check as Chukwu was about to board an Ethiopian Airline flight to China.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that the suspect had dual citizenship, he was both a citizen of Nigeria and Guinea, he was travelling with a Guinean passport with No. R0175813 under the name of Ibrahim Bah, when asked about his family, the native of Enugu state said he was married to a Guinean woman and  had a child.

NDLEA Airport Commander, Hamza Umar, confirming the arrest, said, “The drug was detected during routine search based on suspicion. When the officers painstakingly conducted a search on his luggage, the drug was found hidden inside the auto parts.”

If chukwu had successfully left Nigeria and was caught in china, he would have faced the death penalty.
